Message Well, I dont think many of you know, but I now own the user "JayT"'s old car. I bought the car for 6300$. It's a 95 TT in the Deep Metallic Purple color. If Jay knew how rare the car was I dont think he would have gotten rid of it. The car had a tap on the motor so a few weeks ago I pulled it with a few friends. I still havent got to removing the heads, but I do have the upper/lower plenum removed, cams exposed, etc. I took off all the intake pipes, turbos look good, there is oil all in the passenger side spark plugs, driver side is dry. I want to restore this car to its original beauty, but the part thats going to be a pain in my ass is getting it back running. I do not like to take short cuts, but as a college kid I may have to do something I didnt want to.

Here are my options:

Buy Stage 1 TT heads from Z1

Buy the rebuild kit from Coz for 1800$ (I really dont know how to assemble and disassemble this shit though, by that I mean bearing spec's, plus I have to add in machine shop costs)

Buy a JDM motor. I could buy this from Coz, but I have found a few vendors online that do compression tests and the motors come without turbos (I dont really need those or a transmission).

Those are my options. I am going to see if my grandmother will lend me 3000$ and I will pay her back every month a deal of money. I just dont have that amount right now, which is not to say I wont have it in a few months. I want to do the car right for once, but the car is also in dying need of a paint job as well, and some of the money could go somewhere else. I'm also skeptical of GT600R's on a stock motor pushing 480ish-whp. Any advice would be appreciated. This car will probably not be driven more than 200 miles a week.
